Dance Journey!
Soundharya Sridharan is an Indian Classical Bharatanatyam Dancer and has been associated with the art form for 25 + years. Her passion for Abinaya (facial expressions) and dance movements set her up to train in Vazhuvoor Style under Smt. Sujatha and Kalaimamani. Srekalabharath. Soundharya did her first Solo Recital ie Arangetram in the year 2004 in India, Chennai. In the very same year, She was awarded the Natya Kala Ratna by the South India Social and Cultural academy.
Soundharya had the opportunity to teach the art to other students at a very young age. The genuine enjoyment of forming the choreography and the process of sharing the art with various peers motivated her to start private dance classes and workshops in India in 2011. Towards the end of 2015, she had around 60 students under her guidance after which she moved to the Bay area in California.
After moving to the Bay Area in 2016, she continued to pursue her dance journey under Smt. Shreelata Suresh for 2 years. She also continued teaching as a dance teacher at Shirdi Sai Parivaar (a non-profit organization) till 2018.
Later in summer of 2018, with the blessings of her gurus, she started the dance school " Anuradha Academy of Dance " in Fremont, California . Currently there are 50+ students learning under Soundharya's guidance in the Bay Area.
She is currently engaged in spreading the art form to the wider audience through her dance school under the guidance of her gurus following the Vazhuvoor tradition.
